Reiki Healing with Macy Goodbear
Up to 80% of all diseases in the body can be in relation to stress as a root cause.
How can chronic stress affect us?
When an individual is in a state of stress the muscles will tighten creating tension in one area of the body that will start to spread to other areas. Over time a person can experience overall inflexibility which in turn can lead to limited thoughts and behaviors stemming from the pain and tension felt in the physical body. Body systems, like digestion, will also shut down while in a stress state. This can be felt as a “lump” or “rock” sensation in the stomach after eating a meal. This lack of proper digestion does not allow the body to break down food or absorb the vital nutrients the body needs for energy or natural healing that occurs while in a state of relaxation.
What is Reiki and how can it help?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing. The word Reiki is made up of two words, Rei can be translated as “universal” or “higher power” and Ki can be translated as “breath” or “life force energy”. These translations can be seen or experienced as “spiritually guided life force energy” or “universal life force breath/energy”.
It is commonly known among Eastern societies that if the Ki or Chi is low, the individual is more likely to feel stress, get sick and/or experience disease in the body. When the Ki or Chi is high, the individual is more capable and likely to feel at ease, healthy and happy.
Reiki works in the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual areas of the self to release built up stress and assists energy or Ki to begin flowing again. Due to Reiki energy working on multiple areas, experiences can vary from sensations of deep relaxation, reduction of muscle tension and pain, and an increase in focus and overall energy, to the ability to release fears and phobias, assist in spiritual activation, increasing self-love and compassion, to many other deeper healing experiences.
